Street Car Challenge General Rules

• Each racer is allowed one official co-driver. Additional passengers may ride in the vehicle during the event, but only the registered driver or registered co-driver may make competition passes and submit time slips. Either the driver or co-driver may drive the vehicle on the street portion of the event.

• All participants must provide proof of a current and valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and vehicle insurance. The competition vehicle must be street legal and must have working headlights, taillights, turn signals, and brake lights. All vehicles are required to pass event tech inspection before being allowed to compete.

• Proper safety equipment is required for all participants. Racers are responsible for making sure their vehicle and personal safety equipment meet the requirements needed to safely make passes at each track.

• Each vehicle will go through tech inspection to confirm that it meets the requirements of the selected class. Once approved, the vehicle will receive a class-specific sticker, and the driver and co-driver will receive their event wristbands.

• All participants must drive the same vehicle they are racing from track to track. Racers may pull a small single-axle trailer, use a roof rack, or use a hitch-mounted rack. Any trailer used during the event must also pass inspection and must have working lights and be roadworthy.

• Participants may not use any equipment or components that assist with cooling, charging, oiling, or fueling the vehicle while it is being driven on the road.

• Each route will include one or more required checkpoints. Racers must stop at each checkpoint and take a photo of the competition vehicle at that location. Proof of checkpoint completion must be shown when submitting the next day’s time slip. If checkpoint proof is not provided, the racer must return to the missed checkpoint and take the required photo before the time slip will be considered valid.

• After the drivers meeting, racers may not access their tow vehicle, large trailer, or support trailer during the event. Accessing a tow vehicle or trailer during the event may result in disqualification. If a racer breaks and is unable to continue the event, they may retrieve their tow vehicle and trailer after they are no longer competing.

• Support vehicles are not allowed. No person may follow a racer with spare parts, tools, fuel, equipment, or the intent to assist with repairs. Racers must carry what they need in their competition vehicle, small trailer, roof rack, or hitch rack.

• Racers may assist other competitors during the event. However, ongoing outside assistance, repeated daily assistance, or another vehicle following a racer to provide help may result in disqualification at the discretion of event officials.

• Motorhomes or RVs may not follow racers for overnight accommodations during the route. Local hotel accommodations are recommended.

• All competition vehicles must be driven under their own power for the entire event. Vehicles may not be towed, trailered, pushed, or hauled at any time while still competing. If a vehicle breaks on the road, repairs must be made where the vehicle stops or in a legal and safe location nearby.

• Camping at the tracks is allowed where permitted by the facility. Racers are responsible for following each track’s camping rules, parking instructions, and facility policies.

• Event officials reserve the right to make final decisions regarding rule interpretation, safety concerns, class placement, checkpoint completion, and disqualification.
